FAQs

Q. Can I trial the service for free?

A. Yes! We provide a free, no-obligation trial of our services. Simply register here and follow the set-up instructions provided to get going.

Q. What do I need to pay to use this service?

We charge for the service on a pay-per-click basis. The advantage is that you can access international addresses using credit, costing from $40 p.a. All pricing information is available on the site.

Q. What level of support do you provide?

We provide free support during office hours to get you started and to fix any ongoing issues you may come across. Limited weekend support is also available should you require it.

Q. What is the average response time of the service?

A. This depends on a number of things, including both the service you are accessing and your internet connection. However, typical response times are less than 40 milliseconds.

Q. What benefits does the addressing product provide?

A. As well as validating overseas addresses, Capture+ allows you to choose the language and format for the country in question, e.g. Cyrillic script. This means that any mailings sent to foreign addresses will be in the appropriate format and language, reducing the likelihood of misspellings or causing offence.

There are over 120 different address formats globally, and 30 different language scripts, so keeping global address data correct is no small task!

Q. Do you provide development accounts for me to create my integration?

A. Yes we do, although we can't provide unrestricted development accounts under the terms of our agreement with our data providers. However, within reason, we can provide you with free test credit for development purposes. If you require a more extended or high volume test environment please contact us to discuss your options.

Q. My account credentials are visible in my website source code - is this safe?

A. Your account details can be restricted to your website URL, which we recommend you do. This means that even where your details are visible, they are still safe and secure. Anyone attempting to use them from another site would have their requests rejected and you'd be alerted via email.

Q. Is there any more security available?

A. Yes. Your Capture+ keys can be restricted by URL, have an overall daily look-up limit, and even a daily look-up limit per IP address. You can even exclude specific IP addresses from the daily limit (e.g. your own), or block others totally from using your Capture+ service.

Q. What service availability do you provide?

A. Since 2006 we have delivered 99.999% uptime – that includes service upgrades and planned maintenance.

Q. How do you ensure the service stays live at all times?

A. Service continuity is exceptionally important to us. That's why we've taken considerable steps to ensure that Capture+ is always available:

  • 2 completely autonomous data centers
  • Load balanced servers in each data center
  • Data centers employ fully diverse routing and multiple carriers
  • Automatic failover between servers and between data centers
  • No single point of failure

All this means that even a catastrophic failure of a data center can be tolerated and will not impact on the availability of Capture+. Traffic will simply reroute to the other data center within 60 seconds.

Q. I received an error message when trying to access the service, what should I do?

A. We try to make our error messages as clear and user friendly as possible, but if you are having any issues with the service, you can always contact support using the form above or on 1866 838 9075 and we’ll be happy to help you.

Common Account Errors

Q. Your credit has run out

This means your account has run out of credit. An 'error message' email will be generated when a user tries a look-up. The solution is to log into your account and top-up with credit or call us on 1866 838 9075.

Q. This license key cannot be used from this web site, the security settings for the license key may not include this domain

A. Within your key settings you have the option to limit our service to only accept requests on that key that are coming from specified website addresses. This is a security feature to prevent your key from being used anywhere other than the site you intended. If you set this up and then get this error message it means an attempt has been made to use the service from another website. The website address will be detailed in the email.

Q.This license key cannot be used from this IP address, the security settings for the license key may not include this IP address

This is a security feature to prevent your key from being used anywhere other than where you intended. If you set this up and then get this error message it means an attempt has been made to use the service from another IP. The IP address will be detailed in the email..

Q. The licence key has reached its daily limit, please check your settings or wait until tomorrow

A. Each per-click license key has a setting that dictates the total credit it can consume from the account on a single calendar day. This is a security setting to help protect your credit from being consumed too quickly. It can be changed within the edit wizard of the key in question.
