  • We needed a solution that was both flexible and scalable and most importantly fitted to their advanced architecture environment based on service base solutions.

Solution

  • By making use of a web services based solution, they were able to link in to an area outside their area of expertise in which Postcode Anywhere specialises.
  • The Acorn database set of services allowed them to obtain up-to-date information by making use of their web gateway.
  • Linking in with a credits-based charging structure has given them, as a start up company, a cost effective scalability scenario that their 3 year business plan challenges have raised.

Business value

  • Just Retirements application solutions are fully automated, so linking in to an expert web service interface was very much a satisfied architectural requirement which is difficult to cost against if they had to change business processes.
  • The solution is fully automated so all processing is behind the scenes with no additional manual capture. Rate decision parameters are enhanced by the information provided, even though not critical to the ultimate decision process.
  • Alternative solutions would have been more costly based on their scalability issue over a 3 year term (starting small and growing over the period), however it is envisaged that the costing basis will have to be revisited for more of a long term solution.
  • The service itself is reliable, support is extremely good and access to usage information, licence agreements etc are all available online.
